It’s a happy week for the fans of this Ford F-150 Raptor as the latest model is set to make its first appearance on the 3rd of February in 2021. To be exact, the unveiling will begin by 11 am EST.
Although the image shared online hasn’t given us the full appearance of the 2021 model, we could see its evolutionary grille featuring beautiful “FORD” lettering.
Other visible features are the wider grille-mounted lights and familiar mesh pattern. We can’t point out extra details yet but we could see the contrasting black bumper and one striking feature that looks like decals on its roof.
Ford prepares to take us by surprise considering how the American automaker has been a bit quiet about its specifications. However from the earlier released photos, there are recovery hooks and front skid plate. The exciting features on this off-road monster keeps getting better with its BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires and well pronounced fender flares.
The suspension fitted on this 2021 Ford-F-150 is arguably the biggest revelation, which has replaced the rear leaf springs with the latest coils. This will afford the driver more exciting road experience and also gives the engineers a chance to put in extra new structural brace attached to the rear axles.
When it comes to the visible changes on its underbody, the exhaust now offers a straighter exit and has been rerouted. The ride also offers better ground clearance from its higher mounting points.
The carmaker isn’t ready to show us the inside look of this Raptor truck. Guess we might need to wait a bit more for this. We expect the 2021 model to enjoy the updates offered to the standard version of the F-150. By implication, this model will feature a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, higher quality materials and also a 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system.
For the engine, it will likely retain the V6 3.5-liter powertrain with some improvements on its road performance. As it stands, this engine offers an output of 450 horsepower and 510 pound feet of torque.
Interestingly, we learnt Ford is prepared to offer a supercharged V8 5.2-liter engine derived from the powerful Mustang Shelby GT500. According to the speculation, this more powerful engine might be fitted on the F-150 Raptor R with a generative output of over 700 horsepower.
The new Raptor R is expected to pose a serious challenge to the Ram 1500 TRX, which has been equipped with a V8 6.2-liter engine with an output of 702 horsepower and 650 pound feet of torque. This type of power horse can sprint from zero to 60 mph in an incredible 4.5 secs.
