A lot of people went out last Sunday to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their loved ones. The love story didn’t end there with humans, as Koenigsegg Regera took us out on another date. This type of love affairs took place right on the snow-covered runway where the Regera was spotted power-sliding.
From the video shared online, it looks like the event took place at the carmaker’s Angelholm testing facility. No doubt, the driver is an absolute professional when it comes to drifting. It might look easy to you watching the video until you try it yourself. Please don’t try this if you are not a professional drift or stunt specialist. The fact that he did that with a powerful car on snow makes it quite fascinating.
The Koenigsegg Regera is one of the most powerful hypercars on the planet. The hypercar is powered by a V8 twin-turbo 5.0-liter engine with generative outputs of 1,100 horsepower (7,800 rpm) and 944 pound feet of torque (1,200 Nm) at 4,100 rpm especially when running on 95 octane fuel.
Alongside the engine are three electric motors (YASA), two of which are mounted at the rear wheels while the remaining is placed on the crankshaft to supply extra power and torque vectoring. By implication, the Koenigsegg Regera produces a combined output of 1,500 horsepower and 1,475 pound feet of torque.

What makes the engine on this Regera special is from the point of view that it doesn’t have the conventional transmission. Instead, it offers the company’s Direct Drive system that offers a single-speed fixed-gear transmission.
With this iconic powertrain configuration, it gives the Regera that performance edge and unique driving experience, which you can’t see on any other car on the planet. The person behind the wheel of this Regera doesn’t not need to worry over gear change, especially when drifting. When it comes to drifting, it is easier to do it with this Regera than its powerful production counterpart, Jesko.
