This is exciting news for Toyota Sequoia lovers all over the world. The new 2021 Toyota Sequoia is inspired by the design platform of 4Runner SUV for the same model year. The carmaker is offering the Sequoia TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, which is the light shade of gray. The newly introduced Night Edition model will be added to the available trims for 2021. This means, Sequoia will be joining other Toyota products like Corolla, Camry, Sienna, 4Runner that will be getting this new black edition.
For all trims of this newly introduced Sequoia, active safety will be offered as standard. These safety features include blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control. Other exciting features will include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7.0-ich touchscreen, Amazon Alexa compatibility, roof rails, LED headlight, 18-inch wheels, power sunroofs, USB charge ports and so on.
The 2021 Toyota Sequoia will be powered by a V8 5.7-liter engine with an output of 381 horsepower and 401 pound feet of torque, all mated to six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota is offering an optional 4-wheel drive, apart from its standard rear wheel drive system. Of course, customers will need to add more money to enjoy the optional drivetrain.
The TRD Pro offers more off-road capability with its rear independent double-wishbone suspension and TRD Fox shocks. Other available off-road features on this model include 18-inch BBS wheels, Aluminum running boards, unique LED fog lights and roof rack.
The new addition – Nightshade Edition is between the Platinum trim and Limited trim. It features lower grille, fog light surrounds, black leather seating and darkened moldings.
The top-ranging model – Platinum edition offers more exiting features than other trims. Though more expensive, but it features standard amenities such as 3-zone climate control heated and cooled front leather seats, 18 cup holders, rear seat entertainment system and 7 seating arrangement.
Pricing and release date
The eight-seat TRD Sport SR5, which is the base model, will be sold for $54,180. Platinum trim will be offered for a retail price of $70,740, while the Limited trim will go for $60,485. For the newly added Nightshade Edition, customers will be asked to pay a base price of $61,485. The 2021 Toyota Sequoia is expected to be released into market later this year.
