Lexus made an announcement recently on the type of updates we should expect to see on its RC sports coupe, ranging from refined engine and new exterior colours.
One of such tweaks is the new adaptive control software designed for the 8-speed automatic transmission. This will be a standard feature on the RC 300 and RC 350 models. As a result, these two models will enjoy better gear changes such as selection at higher gear while driving to maximize fuel consumption.
The new 2021 Lexus RC offers a new stabilizer at the back of the car, with reduced wall thickness and increased diameter. Also, there is a new high-strength aluminum upper arm for the reduction of weight and improvement of its rigidity. The automaker has also replaced the old-foot-operated brake pedal with the new electric parking brake.
The 2021 Lexus RC 300 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an output of 241 horsepower and 258 pound feet of torque. The RC 350 on the other hand is powered by a V6 3.5-liter petrol engine with a higher output of 311 horsepower and 280 pound feet of torque.
In the area of safety, the new 2021 Lexus RC promises new extra features such as Radar Active Cruise Control, (standard) Pre-Collision Safety, Lane Departure Warning and Steering Assist, Blind Spot Monitor with Lane Change Alert, Pre-Collision braking with Pedestrian Detection, reversing camera with automatic high beam and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Customers will enjoy several driving features such as leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated power front seats, 10.3-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, Pioneer premium audio system, smart phone and radio integration.
Pricing
The retail price for the 2021 Lexus RC goes for $49,712 while the top-ranging V6 version goes for $51,720. Potential buyers might have to spend more when requesting for the optional driver’s enhancement package.
