BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition is a limited run of 500 examples

The new BMW X7 offers quite a distinctive appearance that you mightn’t have seen on the other models before. At the unveiling of this Dark Shadow Edition, the company revealed that only 500 examples will be manufactured worldwide. So, if you get your hand on one, you are obviously one of the very few lucky ones.

We had the first glimpse of this SUV at the BMW’s showroom in Abu Dhabi, and the model that was displayed is the xDrive40i model. The good news is: the X7 Dark Shadow Edition in the M50i specification features a V8 twin-turbo 4.4 liter engine with a generative output of 523 horsepower.

The new Frozen Arctic Gray looks a bit bluer now compared to the paintjob we saw earlier in July during the official release. BMW clearly stated that every one of this special model will be offered in Frozen Artic Grey.

On the outside, the Dark Shadow Edition offers the Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trim accustomed with the brand, which is located on the kidney grille, side window surrounds, bumper and roof rails. The special edition will ride on 22-inch V-spoke wheels with a black matte finish.

On the inside, the brand’s Individual headliner features a Nigh Blue Alcantara. This feature blends well with the Night Blue Nappa leather on the doors, armrests and upper part of the dashboard. The seats and lower part of the dash are covered in Black Merino leather. The stylish and exclusive look of the cabin is completed by the presence of the BMW individual Fineline wood trim.

For this xDrive40i variant, the power is generated via the standard inline-6 unit of 335 horsepower. With this configuration, the BMW X7 can accelerate from a standpoint of zero to 60 mph in an impressive 5.8 seconds.
