From the latest report reaching us, the Lagos State government in partnership with Julius Berger is planning on combating coronavirus by disinfecting major roads and nus-stops within the state.
From what we learnt, this project is a testament to the unrelenting effort of the government of Lagos State under the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu in curtailing the spread of the deadly virus in the state.
Mr. Tunji Bello, the current Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, while speaking at the flag-off exercise last weekend at the Iddo Bus-Stop, revealed Julius Berger’s effort in helping to safeguard lives of those residing in state.
The Commissioner however assured the people of the state that Lagos State government will not relent in adopting several measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Bello also commended the construction giant for the provision of chemicals, tankers and trucks with dispenser, used in dispensing hand railings and surfaces at many locations. To him, areas where this disinfection occurred include Computer Village, Ojodu Berger, Agidingbi Bus Stop and Grammar School. The next exercise will run through areas within Lagos such as Oyingbo, Yaba, Jibowu, Orile, Bode Thomas, Ojota, Iddo Market, Ojuelegba and iponri.

For those living in the Lagos Island, the disinfecting exercise will run through outer and inner parts of Marina, Tafawa Balewa Square, Tinubu Square, CMS, Glover Road, Obalende Roundabout, Sura Bus Stop and Upper Campos Bus Stop.

The Commissioner further explained that the deployed chemical for the fumigation contains Chlorine and Hydrogen Peroxide. The exercise according to him will end on Monday. He later urged corporate bodies and well-meaning residents of the state to show their support for a safer place for all to live in.
