According to a report, the C7 Corvette Stingray was impounded recently in Canada after the driver was nabbed more than two times driving beyond the speed limit.
The driver was pulled over on the 17th of April 2021 by the British Columbia Royal Canadian Mounted Police on approximately thirty five kilometer south of the city of Merritt. The officer with the help of a radar gun was able to catch the Corvette moving at 151 mph.
Spokesperson Cpl. Mike Halskov said:
“The driver was issued an Appearance Notice for excessive speed, meaning that the driver must appear in Court, where, upon conviction, penalties may be significantly higher than the maximum fine allowed by serving a ticket. In addition, the vehicle was impounded and the officer is considering other options, including submitting a High Risk Driver report to RoadSafetyBC requesting a lengthy driving prohibition.”
The picture of the Blade Silver C7 Corvette as it was pulled over to the road side was released by the local authorities to the public.
Halskov also said:
“Driving is a privilege and B.C. is a leader when it comes to holding drivers accountable for their actions. Police remind motorists to obey speed limits, wear seatbelts, drive sober, and distraction-free every time you get behind the wheel.”
From what we learnt, the recent incident wasn’t the only time a Corvette model would be pulled over for driving at high speed on public roads in North America. One of such was in 202, where the police pulled over silver C6 Corvette in South Dakota for moving at 131 mph in an area where the speed limit is 80 mph
