Lamborghini has joined the league of other top manufacturers who are interested in putting an end to the ravaging pandemic by making face masks and protective shields (plexiglass).
These supplies are very essential for the medical apparatus in a time when coronavirus is spreading all over the world. These medical supplies are produced in different departments at Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturing plant located in Italy, which will be given out freely to Sant’Orsola Malpighi Hospital, Bologna.
Stefano Domenicali, who happens to be the CEO, said:
“During this emergency, we feel the need to make a concrete contribution”, said CEO Stefano Domenicali. “The S. Orsola-Malpighi Hospital is an institution with which we have had a collaborative relationship for years, through both professional consultancy in promoting programs to protect our workers’ health, and in research projects. We will win this battle together by working in union, supporting those who are at the forefront of fighting this pandemic every day.”
The Italian manufacturer has the strength to produce as much as 1000 face masks and 200 medical shields per day. The previous ones were manufactured by the saddler workers, originally bestowed with the responsibility of creating interior and special customization for the models coming out of Lamborghini. From what we learnt, the latter were created using 3D printers from the carbon fiber manufacturing plant and R&D center.
In showing its solidarity amidst the deadly coronavirus, the company will light up its iconic headquarters located in Bolognese, showing the colours associated with the flag of Italy every evening.
